Review & Description

I AM EMBLA and EMILY’S FILES by Lee Adal are novels in the historical thriller series TIME OF THE SWORDS.

Mitch's attempt to fulfill his father's dying request turns into an exploration of hidden histories. The lost chronicles of the northern tier of the Eurasian continent and his personal history collide. The consequences of his search will lead to a conclusion that propels Mitch Seebeck too close to voyeuristic glimpses into the past, too close to long held taboos, and too close to home.

"The novels are goundbreaking, eye-openers. They are sexy, intriguing, full of action, and not for the faint of heart. Adal provides information that will challenge all you know about the past."

--Charles Frey Hightower

Lee Adal selected the series title, Time of the Swords, because early northern Europeans believed they lived within a period in time by that name. According to their chronicles, you and I also live in the same era.

Completed novels in the series, Time of the Swords:

I AM EMBLA -- Action-packed early, northern European saga is wrapped around the story of Embla and Peur. This historical thriller is a story about a young tribal counselor, Embla, and her relationship with a captured Roman thrall, Puer, who is returned to the north.

AEMELIA: The Illumination
In pre-plague Europe, a young woman who poses as a boy brings her curiosity and knowledge of ancient Sibbe traditions to an abbey and its scriptorium.

EMILY'S FILES
Post-modern action adventure about a family who faces the consequences from a lack of knowledge about their history and ancestry.

Excerpt from The Emily Files©:

"The night was cold. The hands on the wall clock moved slowly. At 4 AM, clouds moved over the lake and the night darkened. Somewhere, way off in the distance, a dog barked. Grram’s ears went up and he growled.

He startled Kira out of her sleep. Her heart pounded. She looked through a tiny opening in the blinds. “Mitch, wake up. I see movement down by the dock.”
