Look into the wood surrounding you, the doors, tables, paneling in your house, do you see faces, figures? If the wood is cut just so, you can see the figures/faces of the tree spirits trapped in the wood when their trees were taken to be made into our homes and furniture. Taken, not given.
These were spirits in the trees, the beings our ancestors used to talk to eons ago, their very essence has captured in the wood used to build our homes.
We have forgotten them and their very existence. Mankind has also forgotten the ancient pacts with them. They lay sleeping in the wood in our dwellings, waiting for revenge, waiting for something to free them from their prisons.
It all seemed to start after the experimental power coils around the town went into operation. Experiments run by a well meaning but obsessed college professor.
Power generated from the coils will be used in homes, businesses, you no longer have to plug in the vacuum, just turn it on, and light bulbs work off the energy generated by the Power coils. Free cheap power, available to everyone.
However, these very experiments have also awakened the faces in the wood. The ones who were waiting, wait no more.
Now, suddenly people are missing and it is up to Police Chief Tom Kessler to get to the bottom of the mystery.
They have come for revenge for what has been done to their brothers and sisters, do not beg for mercy, you won’t get it from them, the twisted tree spirits, compassion is not theirs to give, for vengeance is all that is in their wooden hearts.
