While in prison, Ron Trentweiler, a petty thief, is befriended by an itinerant preacher and gets “religion.” Upon his release, he founds a small, storefront Pentecostal-style church in his native, rural Alabama. ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Joe Perrone Jr. worked as a sportswriter for the Passaic-Clifton, NJ, Herald News, and was also a freelance advertising copywriter. He is best known for his Matt Davis Mystery Series, which presently includes: "As the Twig is Bent," "Opening Day," and "Twice Bitten." In addition to his mysteries, Joe also authored "Escaping Innocence (A Story of Awakening)," an evocative coming-of-age novel set in the turbulent '60s. A non-fiction book, "A 'Real' Man's Guide to Divorce (First, you bend over and...)" was published in 2009.
Joe was a professional fly-fishing guide for ten years in the Catskill Mountains of New York, and has had several fly-fishing short stories published in the Mid Atlantic Fly Fishing Guide. "Opening Day" and "Twice Bitten," are both set in Roscoe, NY, the Upstate New York fishing village where Joe was a guide. "As The Twig Is Bent" was recently translated into Portuguese by Rafa Lombardino of Word Awareness, Inc of Santee, CA, and is currently available in Kindle and paperback.
Mr. Perrone is currently at work on a literary novel, entitled "Changes," which examines the life of a man who has been struck by lightning and the resulting conflicts that he must resolve within his circle of family and friends. A release date for "Changes" will be announced late in 2012. All of Joe's books are available in Kindle and paperback editions.
